Lesson Breakdown

1. Stance Fundamentals

  • Orthodox Stance:
    • Left foot forward, right foot back.
    • Distribute weight: 70% on the rear leg, 30% on the lead leg.
    • Maintain a slight oblique angle with your upper and lower body aligned.
    • Keep hands up—thumb resting on the jawline, gloves under the cheeks.
  • Southpaw Stance (Mirrored Stance):
    • Right foot forward, left foot back.
    • Same weight distribution and hand placement as orthodox.

2. Punching Techniques

  • Punch Map:
    Eight punches in total, categorized into jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, and body shots.
  • Numerical System:
    • 1: Jab (Lead Hand)
    • 2: Cross (Rear Hand)
    • 3: Lead Hook
    • 4: Rear Hook
    • 5: Lead Uppercut
    • 6: Rear Uppercut
    • 7: Lead Hook to the Body

3. Combination Drills

  • Simple Combos:
    • 1, 2: Jab and Cross.

    • 3, 4, 3: Series of Hooks.
